** Information about the upcoming Olympia ladyfest in 2005 will be posted on a new website, as soon as it is available.   **
All of the information on these pages was current in August, 2000 and has not been updated since. We would like to encourage ladies to take what they can from our experience and create their own events in their own communities. Please keep us updated.

Interested Volunteers:

Volunteer Training
July 30 and 31 4-6pm @ Oly World News - 116 East 4th Avenue
(open to all interested volunteers)

Please show up to sign up for volunteer shifts and orientation. Jobs that we will be looking to fill will be: ticket taking/tearing, security, clean up, working the door at workshops/panels/shows and hospitality-errand running. Backstage work, film projecting and other jobs will probably be filled ahead of time because we need to have certain positions secured because of their importance or specific technical demands. Men are encouraged to do clean up since women have historically (and presently) done this type of labor (not to forget all those male custodians though!).

To earn a full pass, one must work 12 hours. To earn a partial pass, one must work 8 hours.

We have not been able to answer emails because of the amount received. We appreciate your interest and inquiries and encourage you to attend this meeting. If you can only attend the festival based on earning a pass by volunteering and can not make this training, please email the volunteer committee.

We are trying to accomodate both visitors and locals. We may or may not have jobs for everyone. We are primarily looking for volunteers who can work 12 hours, to cut down on training and potential chaos.

Again, thank you for your interest. We will have more info. as the schedule is firmed up, and we are more clear as to the specifics of our needs for volunteers.

Also, there's plenty of other ways to help ladyfest!
